Blog Update X – Aktiviti Bulan Ogos

Bulan 8 baka ngelama tu meh enti ba Scotland…Sambutan Edinburgh Festival Fringe setiap taun. Taun tu kami menyanak bejalai ngagai George Heriot’s School salah siti ari sekula ka lama ba Edinburgh. Sekula tu private lalu fee masuk sekula aja udah beratus pound. Taun tu sekula tu bisi ngaga hari terbuka maya Edinburgh Fringe Festival sempena nyambut ulang taun ke 350. so ngambi kesempatan meda pediau sekula tu kena ka 12 ogos 2009.

 Tu mua pintu gerbang masuk sekula George Heriot.

Tu jalai penatai lepas pintu gerbang tadi. Nya meh building lama sekula George Heriot.

Udah musin building tadi masuk nengah penatai belakang ia enti masuk ke dalam sekula.

Udah tembu meda pameran sekula tu (siap meli souvenir – Magic Mug, Tea Towel enggau poskad) kami menyanak mupok ke diri ngagai Princes Street Garden laban bisi West End Trade Market ba dampih St. John Cathedral.

Kena ka 13 Ogos 2009, kami menyanak bejalai ngagai Glasgow nepan train ScotRail dioperasi oleh First . Tambang pulai mansang orang dewasa GBP 41.20 siko.

Blog Update IX - Aktiviti Bulan Julai 2009 ...Part 3 : Leith Walk Community FunFair (18/07/2009)

Kena ka 18/07/2009 (Hari Sabtu), kalin Apai Laja bisi jemput ngagai rumah sida ba Leopold Place, London Rd., Edinburgh kena hari enam lalu nganjung bahan fotostat ka pesan ia ba Apai Laja hari sebedaunya. Maya hari Sabtu tu mega komuniti sida ia (Leith Walk Community) bisi ngaga Funfair ba public park ka enda jauh ari rumah sida ia. Bisi dalam 5 minit kinit sema bejalai kia. Tu gambar ka sempat diambi tang sayau nadai mai camcoder mayanya laban bisi persembahan live.

Gerai endor nembiak paint mua sida baka animal character. Laja enggai enda beminat.

Tu meh salah sigi live performance ko aku. Boleh tahan and sound sistem endar manah.

Posing dulu laban ka enda mai camcorder at least bisi gambar sebagai bahan bukti.

Akhirnya...baru bisi olih chance main ba Bouncing Castle udah lama beratur nganti main nitih ka group age.

Udah tembu ngukur funfair kami sebilik pulai ke Juniper Green Village around pukul 4.30 lemai.

Blog Update IX - Aktiviti Bulan Julai 2009 ...Part 2: Lawatan Sehari ke Falkland Palace & St. Andrews

Kena ka 17 hb Julai 2009, kami menyanak (musim cuti sekula - summer break) sertai enggau kaling Apai Laja sebilik ngambi pakej Day Trip to Falkland Palace and St. Andrews anjuran The Chaplaincy, Heriot-Watt Unversity.

About the property

The only Royal Palace in the care of the National Trust for Scotland, Falkland Palace is an impressive Renaissance building set in the heart
of the town at the foot of the Lomond Hills. Built by James IV and James V between 1450 and 1541 the Palace was a country residence of the
Stuart monarchs of Scotland for over 200 years. Lush green lawns,colourful herbaceous borders and many unusual shrubs and trees complete
the setting for this memorable property.

History:

The Scottish Crown acquired Falkland Castle from MacDuff of Fife in the 14th century. In 1402 Robert Stewart, 1st Duke of Albany imprisoned his nephew David Stewart, Duke of Rothesay, the eldest son of King Robert III of Scotland, at Falkland. The incarcerated Duke eventually died there from neglect and starvation.

Between 1501 and 1541 Kings James IV and James V of Scotland transformed the old castle into a beautiful royal palace: one of the finest Renaissance palaces in Scotland. James V, already ill, died at Falkland in December 1542 after hearing that his wife had given birth to a daughter—Mary, Queen of Scots. ^[2]

Falkland became a popular retreat with all the Stewart monarchs. They practised falconry there and used the vast surrounding forests for hawking and for hunting deer and wild boar.

Nearby Myres Castle is the hereditary home of the Royal Macers and Sergeants at Arms who served Falkland Castle since at least the sixteenth century.

After the Union of the Crowns, James VI and I, Charles I, and Charles II all visited Falkland. Cromwell's invading army set the palace on fire and it quickly fell into ruin. In 1887 John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute started the restoration of the palace.

The Crichton-Stuarts, the Keepers of Falkland Palace, at the time headed by the 5th Marquess of Bute made a decision in the early 1950s, he appointed the National Trust for Scotland in 1952 to take care of the Palace, although it is still owned by the current Marquess of Bute (the 7th).

Falkland Palace has been in the keepership of the Crichton Stuart family since its acquisition by the 3rd Marquess of Bute in 1887. In 1952 the National Trust for Scotland was appointed Deputy Keeper of the Palace, and they now care for and maintain the Palace and its extensive gardens.

Laban maya masuk ke dalam palace enda dikebendar ngambi gambar atas alasan polisi insuran. So nadai gambar dalam Falkland Palace semina ba luar aja. Semina dalam ia maioh perengka barang lama baka baju  gaun lama, perabut ukir ka rumit lama sertai bilik tinduk raja enggau ratu ia. Naka enti meda ukiran katil sertai hiasan dalam palace nya. Dalam palacenya bisi mega chapel mit untuk kerabat diraja. Baru ngasai ka tower ko orang.

Ka bendar ia bandar Falkland enda tentu besai lalu nadai entu bisi mensia gaya laban ia dikategori kampung. Nya asai ka enda lama musin kampung tu. Kampung tu mega udah menang anugerah dalam Festival Bungai ba Scotland anjuran Scotland Agricutural Society (enda entu ingat nama society ia bisi ngambi pamplet malas ka ngiga ;)).

Tembu raun, pejalai bas kami udahnya nuju St. Andrews, tang malang ko orang laban ka ujan bangat lebat maya kami datai ba St. Andrews so nadai maioh ngambar diambi.

Pulai ari St. Andrews bala nyau lelak magang maioh ka tindok dalam bas taja tour guide bisi madah ka tempat ka dipansa bas. Datai ba Edinburgh nyau pukul 7 p.m.
